We never forget.
Welcome
My name is Alicia Lauran Ireland. I am a visionary artist from Los Angeles, California, and currently based out of my studio in Sedona, Arizona.
I tell visual stories of overcoming, transformation, love, the cosmos, and miracles.
In 2018, I received the first vision of a painting while my mom was battling cancer, an image expressing the eternal nature of the Mother. In 2023 I received the second, a warning of a violent incident that would soon come. By the end of 2024, after witnessing a condensed series of miracles, and profound loss, I surrendered— and devoted my life to what I know as my higher calling. Now, each vision is a mission, a message I get to birth onto the canvas and share with the world—-
——-with every paint stroke, we bridge our hearts with the cosmos, little strokes of starlight, .
Currently…
Focused on right now: Currently I’m finishing up paintings. I had such a burst of inspiration the past couple years, and I’ve been warned about the piles of unfinished paintings that can catch up to you. It’s feeling really good to revisit each piece after gaining so many new skills. Come to my show on April 24, 2026 at 60 W. Cortez Sedona.
A miracle you want to share: I had recently been to a medicine ceremony, where I met an astonishing hummingbird spirit. A month later, I was sitting in a romantically rustic white gazebo on a lake in West Kentucky. I began to paint a dancer, bursting up from flame and the angels and animal spirits spiraling around her. I started with the hummingbird (obviously) and began painting a wispy, ghosty hummingbird. Suddenly I heard a BUZZZZZ, I feared to look up as I knew there were many hives and bees in the gazebo. I didn’t move my head and peered up with one eye and… it was the hummingbird… 6 inches from my nose, as I painted the finishing touches on its wing. Art is life.
What are your hopes for the studio and the future: The studio is really sweet and I hope it continues to be an anchor of fun and creativity for our community. I’d like it to become a long term asset to our town, for the kids, for visitors, for visiting artists— somewhere to gift yourself with time to really tap in and enjoy.
Are you single? No
Why is art so important: I believe the more we are willing to reveal, forgive, and admire within ourselves, the more we are able to love, admire, and forgive others. Art is the space where I allow myself to reveal the light and darkness that makes up my person, and the world around me. Some days I am horrified by what I see, what I create, and some days I'm in awe, it’s beautiful that I weep// but that is art. Creating art is the act of surrendering to our true nature, to all that is. I think too that the longer we can sit with the discomfort of staying curious about our painting, it helps our go deeper in our relationships too. It’s all connected. All a reflection. Every painting is a journey, a meditation, a prayer, a confession. Peaceful, fun, playful, yet confronting.
(P.S. If you’re in Sedona, come to ArtChurch on 1st and 3rd Thursday)
